Chief Executive Officer of Lady Margaret Foundation’s Contribution to Akuafo Hub’s Aflatoxin Prevention in Maize project

The Lady Margaret Foundation is proud to highlight the significant contribution of its Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Margaret Davids Opoku-Agyeman, to the groundbreaking initiative launched by Akuafo Hub. This initiative, aimed at combating aflatoxin contamination in maize, has already begun transforming post-harvest handling practices among maize farmers across the country.

Mrs. Opoku-Agyeman, an agribusiness expert and dedicated advocate for food safety, played a pivotal role in the success of the project. As a key stakeholder, she actively engaged local aggregators and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture’s (MoFA) extension officers to ensure a widespread reach of the training initiative. Through her leadership, the programme has significantly increased awareness about aflatoxin contamination, which is a critical issue in the agricultural sector.
